Sinhala and Tamil New Year

Sinhala and Tamil new year is a special day for us As soon as the month of April begins, we start preparing to celebrate the new year. When the new year is near we often the sound of the koha bird and that feeling we realized that the new year is coming.




April is very beautiful month. During this time trees plants becomes very attractive,full of flowers and fruits. April 13 is the old year. On that day, everyone take bath, clean their house and get ready to punya kalaya. Before the punya kalaya the first thing we do is gp to temple.


 April 14 is the beginnig of the new year. On this day many special traditions are followed, such as starting work,exchanging money, eating meals and visiting relatives. My mother prepare many delicious foods like kawm, kokis, athirasa, aluwa,kiribath, asmi . Exchange plates of foods with neighbors is also something we never forget to do.The new year is a day that brings happiness to people herats and strengthens the bonds between them.

My Favorite Actress My Favorite Actress is Malani Fonseka. She is the most legendary Sri Lankan actress. She is often called the "Queen of Sinhala Cinema". She started acting in the 1960s and become famous for her strong dramtic roles. She has  in over 200 films many stage dramas. Malani Fonseka won many nationa l and international awards for her acting. Malani Fonseka 's most famous work in both films and stage dramas. My favorite films are Nidanaya, Gahanu lami .  She also act stage dramas there are manme, sinhabahu, hunuwataye kathawa. Many younger actress and actors consider her a role model because of her skill. She also represented many time in Sri Lanka. She is always my favourite actress.

  A place that brings peace to my heart I love going to the beach  because it makes me feel happy and free. The sound of the waves and the smell of the sea create a beautiful and relaxing enviroment. When I see the wide blue ocean , I feel calm and forget all my worries. The beach is a place full of natural beauty. The golden sand, the bright sun, and the cool breeze make it a perfect place to enjoy. I like to walk along the shore and watch the waves come and go. It feels like the see is talking to me in a soft voice. Going to the beach is also fun and exciting. I enjoy playing in the water, collecting sea shells , and spending time with my friends or family. Every moment at the beach feels specail and full of joy. For me the beach is more than just a place. It is a place where I can relax , think ,and feel peaceful. whenever I go to the beach , I come back with a happy heart and beautiful memories.
